With every new year, we as web designers and user experience pros can look back (and sometimes shake our heads) about the passing trends, while eagerly anticipating what’s coming next. With 2015 nearing an end, what can we expect to see gain momentum and become a full-on trend in 2016?
While these kinds of trend reports are ubiquitous this time of year, they tend to focus on a very surface level. That’s not necessarily terrible. The overall “look and feel” of websites have to evolve over time, and it’s always fun to see what styles are coming into fashion. But the team at The Deep End Web Design curated their own list of trends with a twist: Each was hand-picked for its potential to actually increase conversions.
Some of these trends have been tested, while others are just too new. But based on what we know about user behavior and what has worked in the past, we can safely say all of these trends have serious click-potential. So use whichever combination makes the most sense for your next web project. There are no one-size-fits-all answers, and at the end of the day, these trends all depend on a well-planned execution for maximum impact.
